"arms of Zrzavwy tribe"

Quatation of professor Herman Zerzavý, historian and explorer from Vienna (whose grand-father František was born in 1750 in Krucenburk 31):

We Zerzawy (from Rzawe) are descendents of immemorial czech-moravian knightly tribe that played an important part in the 14th century in south-west Moravia (in the south of Jihlava) in the middle Bohemia and in „Gold Prague“ in Vyšehrad as documented. Chval from Rzave as an „king´s ingle“ of czech king Václav IV.
My tenth predecessor John Lapaczek from Rzawa was born in 1569 in Dobronice in the south-west from Tábor and died in 1634 in Krakov. He outran during religious perplexes of the thirty years´ war in 1622 with his family to Poland. Not until the end of the war his son and nephew Martin came back through Valetzov over Labe, pastorate Konárovice back to Bohemia and from there with some breaks to Krucenburk. Our tribe was called after the village and red colour of the fortress Rzawa at Tábor since the beginning of the 14th century.
